This gel has a nice mattifying effect and is ideal for the southern and Caribbean heat (and summer elsewhere), probably due to the West Indian arrowroot, one of the first ingredients, and coconut lye. The skin stays supple in the right places and dry in the right places. For me, it sits more on my face than other gels, but does an excellent job of blocking sweat and redness. Too many creamy moisturizers literally fall on your face on hot, sweaty days, and this product keeps it all going. There's a strong citrus scent upon application, which didn't bother me, but some might not like it (it goes away when it dries). Vitamin C, allantoin, apple and seaweed extract are hot ingredients for gentle exfoliation and firming, so I see this as a great nighttime remedy. A little goes a long way: you can actually cover your face with a pea-sized amount.
