Not rustproof!
They were advertised as stainless steel. That's definitely not true. While some common stainless alloys are magnetic, none are quite as magnetic as mild (low carbon) steel. These springs are equally magnetic, which makes it clear that they are not stainless steel. Their color is also a clue.
