Review on Mohu Paper Thin Reversible Performance MH 110543 by Ahmed Rowe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The cord cutting revolution WILL be televised, OTA!

There are 2 mistakes new wire cutters make: 1) Throw away the old wire harness. My cord from Mohu was only 10 feet long. I just used one of the old wires that was long enough and it works just as well if not better. The company is in the business of cutting the cable, so they don't get mad at you. 2) Do not call Mohu customer service FIRST to find out what antenna size you need and if you need an amplifier. They are friendly and helpful; they won't bite you. Initially I thought I needed an indoor HDTV antenna with a Leaf 50 amplifier for around $60. I called them, gave them my address and was told I ONLY needed a TV antenna from Mohu Leaf Metro TV (25 miles) without an amplifier, originally for $20 but got it reduced to just $14. They told me I have 4 cell towers within 4 miles of my home (3 north of me and 1 south). I saved $35 just by calling instead of guessing what I needed. When I got my antenna I started finding them in certain parts of my apartment. The problem with my apartment is that I only have 2 windows (bedroom and living room) and they only face south where there is 1 radio tower. I live on the 3rd floor (out of 4 floors). This is NOT a problem as their antennas are multi-directional so they don't need to be pointed in any particular direction. This is my breakdown of the areas I place antennas in to see how many channels I can get: 1) bedroom wall - 36 channels 2) bedroom window - 46 channels 3) living room window (with wired splitter) - 38 channels 4) living room Room window (without splitter) - 37 channels I have found that to get better reception and more channels you need to test the antenna in many areas of the window. You'd think I'd get more by placing the antenna higher on the window, but that's not the case. I have more channels by pasting it below. I have a high definition plasma TV (in my bedroom) and the picture is much better than my old cable provider Comcast (it's not compressed). It's like a 4K TV! New Over-the-Air (OTA) networks are being introduced all the time. You get more channels than just local ones. I didn't know this until I wondered WHY I have so many channels! - OTA television antenna technology has come a long way. Gone are the days of bunny ears with aluminum foil! Pros
  • The multi-directional UHF/Hi-VHF elements are reversible and designed to blend into your home decor. Hang on a wall or window for best performance. Obstacles unrelated to the operation of the products may affect reception. Every location is unique in terms of local landscape, vegetation and antenna placement can affect your TV signals.
