The light is easy to install and very bright! My tree is 7.5 feet and one rope wasn't enough because I put them very close together. There is no light on the back of my tree, but you can't see it because I have it in the corner. The board is terrible. It is very difficult to find out. We found a setting we can tolerate and saved it there. The blink settings are WAY too bright, giving us a headache. The shot we're left with is a "transition" from white to color, but the transition isn't smooth at all. I like white light and kids love color so it's a good compromise. In color mode, the blue is very noticeable, which doesn't really feel like Christmas, but this time we used a red and white ornament to smooth it out a bit.
