Temperature loss depending on the environmental conditions is the only disadvantage

** In my experience, when the straw is first connected to the hydration bladder, it only closes after it audibly clicks into place. This will prevent water from getting on your back and pants. ** CONS: I'll start with the only negative. The only insulated part of this system is the straw, so the chamber loses temperature fairly quickly in the Texas heat. To solve this problem I bought a 3 liter water bladder isolator. BENEFITS: The backpack fits well and stays secure even at full speed. I'm a leggy 6ft 165lb guy and the chest and waist straps fit me perfectly (pant size 30x34). There are even little loops to keep the straps from dangling in the wind. Well designed. No leaks at seals or edges after repeated, not-so-careful use with ice cubes thrown around. At this price I can afford to be rude to him. With proper care and maintenance, you can avoid that "fancy" flavor and get a lot out of it. If it gets really annoying, don't worry - you can buy replacement caps, attachments, clamps, bite valves, straws, insulators, bladders, and even medicated pills that will fizz and dissolve in your bladder to get rid of stubborn odor. Immediately after EVERY use, I thoroughly disinfect the handle, the outside of the camera and the backpack itself. Mouthpiece and bite valve are washed, disinfected, rinsed and dried. Straw undergoes the same treatment. After everything is dry, I use a fan and paper towel holder to open my bladder and direct airflow in if I miss the water. So far, the above methods have not only kept everything clean and tasteless, but also free from odor, dirt, and hard water. As someone who loves the outdoors but suffers from allergies and asthma, drinking cold water while exercising outdoors helps keep my throat from drying out which prevents chest tightness which keeps my airways open what keeps me from it (and keeps me from it). Use my inhaler. It's priceless, trust me. I am very happy with the price and performance of this bladder and bag.
