You must keep this light plugged into a USB port at all times. In bright light, the battery life is less than three hours. I wish the included USB cable was longer. Make sure you buy a longer cable and make sure you order the correct size mini jack. It was hard for me to find. Not all USB Mini/Micro are the same size. We use this on our desktop monitor so it's a long way to our computer that sits under our desk. Backlight controls are on the back, which might not be such a bad thing on a laptop, but it's a hassle reaching for the monitor to adjust brightness, color temperature, and power. Definitely not for the desktop. If they called it a laptop I would give it 4 stars.
