Based on reviews and the size chart, I ordered a medium size in black. For reference, I'm 5'4135,34,27,38. The medium was very large on top and not so flattering on the bottom. The buttonhole at the back was not elastic and could not even be undone. I figured I should live out the rest of my days buried in a medium. I exchanged it for a small one (photo) and it fit perfectly. The buttonhole was elastic and easy to undo even after two bottles of wine. The shorts were of great length; no cheeky/hungry butt, but no bermuda length. The fabric is thick and not see through at all. I also ordered a pair of navy blue pants in a small size and the pants pulled down my hips and looked terrible so one of these was sent back.
