Due to problems with other pea and potato foods I started feeding this food to my overweight dog in late 2018. And the Facebook group I was in about issues related to peas and other cardiovascular diseases in dogs promoted this brand of food as a great food. After feeding this food in a much smaller amount than required for several months, she not only did not lose weight, but also gained weight. Her old diet was higher in calories and fat but way, way lower carbs, so with Pro Plan she gets fewer calories but more carbs and takes back to Earthborn Venture and Natures Logic. The calories may be higher, but she lost weight by eating the same amount of cups I was feeding on the Pro plan. This food may be suitable for some dogs, but as with humans, carbohydrates can be an issue. Giving 2 stars because she really likes the food but because it doesn't help her lose weight it's really not good. I love bread, but we all know that too much bread is bad for the waistline. If Purina figures out how to cut carbs, I might go back to their brand, but not before.
