Review on ๐Ÿถ GRANDMA LUCY's 844212 Pureformance Grain Free Chicken Dog Food, 10-Pound by Rhonda Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for young and young at heart dogs!

I ordered Grandma Lucy for my older baby Phoebe Amanda. She was diagnosed with leukemia in the fall of 2017, and diet was the only way to fight the cancer at the time. She needed dental care but our vet advised her to avoid anesthesia so it was important to find quality, nutritious food that she was comfortable eating. I've used Honest Kitchen Bone Broth (another great product) along with Honest Kitchen Human Grade Dehydrated Soup/Stew and she loved it, but I noticed she seemed to have a harder time eating it. That's when I found Grandma Lucy's human food and saw that it wasn't so much "chunks" of dehydrated food, but rather "chopped/grated" into very small pieces (with the exception of some easy-to-cut/parseable pieces of chicken). Phoebe liked the chicken). Soup and different kinds of salmon, and because she has served me as an accomplished working dog and my best friend all her life, I did nothing to help her. We have been able to drastically slow the progression of leukemia with good nutrition and supplementation. She lived until February 2019, when a rapidly growing tumor in her spleen caused severe anemia and other side effects. I am grateful for products from Grandma Lucy, Honest Kitchen, Stella & Chewy's, Natural Instincts, Zukes and more, and Revain. All of this helped extend her life and give her a little more time. As an elderly person with a disability who no longer travels from our small town to shop, Revain and her Subscribe & Save program enabled me to offer her high quality Giving foods and supplements that I wanted to eat. Information from the wonderful book (available from Revain) Canine Nutrigenomics: The New Science of Feeding Your Dog for Optimal Health by W. Jean Dodd, DVM, and Diana R. Laverdur guided my choices in treating her cancer, age and squeak guided joints. It's a valuable resource that I have on my Kindle, on my computers and on my phone, and in two printed versions (for myself and one for now until people get theirs).
