These needles are great for short term use on fine fabrics. I recently did face masks. I'm working with 2 layers of blended fabric and the needles are failing. I broke more than half. At first I thought it was user error, so I tweaked my machine a few times. It didn't help, every time the fabric was layered and the thread was pulled a little tighter than usual, the needle broke on the thinner part of the neck. I started using my second sewing machine, a much older basic Kenmore model, and had exactly the same problems.
