There is a big jump in size, my daughter has a pair in 2 different sizes, one size fits great until she is big. Then when these pants were 3 inches above her ankle I ordered a size up and they ended up being very baggy on her. But in the next year it will grow into her. She is very slim and has long legs. So girls of medium height/weight I shouldn't have a problem, I always have problems with that when it comes to pants for them.
