Material like a hospital gown

I bought this because of one of those lists of "50 shirts under $30" lists. This material feels like a hospital gown. Not the soft, you're-really-sick-and-might-ber-here-for-a-bit kind, but the turn-your-head-and-cough kind. It's somehow swishy and stiff at the same time. I can't decide if I hate it enough to return it, because the pattern is SO FRIGGIN CUTE. I love the colors, the subtle v-neck so my boobs aren't hanging out, the sleeves are so chic. This is clearly a stencil-cut shirt though, where they just trace the boxy unflattering cutout made by someone, who has never met a person but read about them in a book maybe once, thinks a person is supposed to be shaped like. I got a lot of compliments at work, and I wore a camisole under it so I think that's helping with the boxiness of it all. In the pictures it looks long, like it's covering the model's butt, I have a very short torso and it comes about halfway down my booty, so tight leggings might look cute with this for the mall but probably not the office. I planned on getting this in every color because on the screen it looks totes adorbs, but in real life the material is 100% polyester, no blend of cotton, and really it's just not worth the price. Knock it down to ten and we'll talk.

Pros
  • The blouse accentuates the waistline for a more flattering silhouette
Cons
  • Shirt is too sheer
