I bought this as a spare sheet/spread and couldn't be happier. My only regret is that I didn't replace the old one with this one sooner. The silky fabric creates the effect of absorbing and trapping the cold air it comes in contact with. The best way to describe it (for men) is the constant feeling after putting on a pair of boxer shorts that you first put in the freezer on those hot summer days. Come on, we've all made it! But seriously, this is a wonderful weighted duvet cover that feels REALLY cool. So if you buy a cooling weighted comforter that doesn't meet your definition of cool, I highly recommend replacing that cover before returning the weighted insert. Another important thing to keep in mind when purchasing this cover is that you need to ensure that the inner ties that evenly connect the cover to the weighted insert are properly aligned. I rarely recommend a product so highly, but this material is by far the best I have. occur to create a legitimate cooling effect.
