It works great as an HDMI to DVI adapter. No issues with fit or image quality. My problem was that I didn't know my monitor had a DVI-D connector and that it was a DVI-I adapter that had five extra pins for analog video signals. This is a wide blade and four pins around it. Luckily, if you find yourself in the same situation, you can remove the analog pins with needle nose pliers; These pins are not connected to anything inside and are easy to pull out. While both DVI-D and DVI-I have a wide plug, the DVI-I plug is slightly wider than its DVI-D counterpart and will not fit into the DVI-D socket unless removed.
