This is a great little hot glue gun. The glue doesn't flow, it comes out hot, very hot, be careful. Absolutely no problems transitioning from one glue to another. If, as some reviewers have said, the gun didn't grab the new stick, I recommend they don't try to switch sticks too soon, make sure the new stick is far enough down the canal, and that they pump a few times . I just love the stand. I don't think I'll ever go back and use the old roller coaster we're used to. I don't lose this glue gun on my craft table like I've done with mini guns in the past. I was a bit worried about the tip being flush with the thermal shield, while I understand this is a safety feature I wasn't sure I could be precise with the glue application. I didn't have to worry. The tip hit the small spots well. It suited me that there was some glue left on the tip after using the gun. It was easy to remove.
