The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you remove any sticky labels etc before putting them in the dishwasher. What I thought was a print on the back was actually a label that had to be removed. I thought I was being careful but I wasn't and ended up with a little mess in my dishwasher but I didn't want that to distract from the plates. The plates are a bit thicker than I've had in the past, but they are sturdy and work very well. They are part of the daily meals and the family tends to choose their favorite meals. Absolutely no problems with coloring. I'm glad to have received this.
