Imagine my disappointment when I opened the box and found that the white diffuser was deformed during shipping and the orange one didn't fall far behind. I believe they are made of thermoset plastic which got too hot in the UPS truck. I remember the package itself was hot when it arrived. Too bad because apart from the filters, this lamp is fantastic. It's about the size of a large smartphone and has an array of 10 x 18 LEDs on the front. 180 in total. There is a small 1" x 0.5" OLED display on the back. Three buttons on one edge and two different USB ports (Micro USB and USB C) on the bottom edge. The body is aluminum with nicely beveled edges. The LEDs are covered with a durable transparent polycarbonate screen. The device is held in place by star-shaped mounting screws. The quality of the actual lamp is excellent and it has a standard threaded hole for a camera tripod. The package includes a shoe mount with an adjustable ball socket that allows you to adjust the angle of the shoe. It's basically aluminum with a steel ball and knurled plastic wheels to tighten the shoe and screw onto the lamp. The shoe mount fits my Canon SL2 (200D in Europe) easily and has a threaded hole under the foot so you can mount it on a tripod away from the camera if you like. The Enegon lamp itself is excellent with easy controls. A long press on the power button turns it on or off. The display shows the battery status and the remaining battery time at the current settings. During the charging process, you will be shown how long it will take for the built-in battery to be fully charged. When I first plugged it into my 2 amp USB charger it read 1 hour and about 45 minutes which turned out to be pretty accurate. Below the battery and charging information, you have two adjustable settings for the lamp. Brightness in % and hue/color in Kelvin. A short press toggles the two menu items on the display. Both are controlled via two additional buttons. The brightness changes from 1 to 5% in 1% increments and then from 5 to 100% in 5% increments. If you hold the up or down button for a moment, the variable settings will switch faster. Kelvin lets you adjust the color of the light on the lamp scale from 3100K, the warm, old-fashioned color of a tungsten-orange bulb, to 5500K, a cool daylight color with a slight blue tinge. Something like 5000 - 5300 is a nice sunny day, not too cold. Kelvin adjustable in 100 Kelvin increments. Range is excellent, variable brightness from a dim flashlight to a very bright bright light, so have diffusers. In use, this lamp is excellent and very versatile. It works very well, is very easy to use with simple controls and a clear, bright screen. Which is what makes partially warped diffusers such a big disappointment. Not that I often use a blue or orange filter, but a white diffuser is a must because the lamp is so bright that even without it it casts very sharp shadows and very clear highlights. Luckily I can get around this by sticking white paper or a crumpled cloth over the lamp. The lamp gets quite hot, but not hot enough to burn anything. When fully charged, the battery life depends on the brightness. It claims around 1.5 hours and at least around 15 hours at full brightness. This lamp would have easily gotten 5 stars if the lenses hadn't been damaged. Unfortunately I got it through the Vine program so I can't return/exchange it and see how the replacement went. I'm unlucky based on other reviews. Unfortunately this does not affect the rating, I am very disappointed that I have to lower the price. Because I really like it. The diffuser is warped but still works, but that's just a consolation. Even with the 150 degrees that can be reached in the cargo hold on over 100 hot days like here, it really shouldn't have melted. So I'm deducting a star for the bad packaging.
