This is a great camshaft that will really wake up your LS engine. Tuning is DEFINITELY REQUIRED, as with EVERY camshaft swap, yes, retuning even after updating the factory camshaft with another factory camshaft. It is also recommended to use a 2500 rpm torque converter and at least PAC1218 valve springs. I installed 1219 springs myself with hardened Elgin pushrods and a redesigned pivot just in case. I ride this setup daily on a fully dressed 04 Tahoe with 35 inch mud tires and it will fry both rear tires with ease.
