When it comes to using a dimmer I always go with CREE light bulbs. They work very well with Lutron's CL series dimmers and last a long time. I can set them very low and if I get the low limit on the dimmer right they turn on all the time, even at the lowest setting. Older CREE bulbs (with fins on the base and cap that get sticky) should be avoided at all costs, but these new dimmable bulbs are excellent.
