Situation improved but not perfect
My TV has a PC input (VGA plus 3.5mm audio jack. When I use the laptop on battery power everything is fine. When the laptop is connected to a When the power source is connected there is a loud hum. Ground Loop Isolator seemed to be the answer. This product made some improvements but didn't completely eliminate the problem. I was hoping for 100% so I only gave it 3 stars. See looks like it's intended for automotive applications, and maybe it works better in that context, but it's only partially effective in eliminating 60-cycle noise on my home TV.
