Review on Jabra Stealth UC Bluetooth Headset: Professional Model 5578-230-309 by Wesley Holmes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best Bluetooth I've used so far

I was using an older Jawbone Ion. It was a very good bluetooth headset but I had it for quite a while and it eventually broke. Judging by the reviews, the new version is very successful. This does not work for me. I tried three different replacement devices: Pantronics Voyager Legend, Motorola Hint, and Jabra Stealth. The Plantronics sounded good on both ends, but it was uncomfortable in my ear, so I returned it. The hint was successful. At times the audio was better on both sides than when using my phone. Other times, the callers couldn't hear me. Beat this one. Jabra Stealth has proven to be an excellent device. It's loud enough for me that I have to turn the volume up to about 1/2. Callers tell me it's crystal clear on their site. I tried it out in the wind and was told that the noise cancellation cancels out all other noise while I'm speaking. When I don't speak, they hear the sound of the wind blowing. Another plus is the battery life. I've only been using it for a few weeks but I spent 3 days on a few calls and most of the time it was on and it was showing 85% battery life. Definitely way better than Hint. I read 2 complaints about this headset. First, the call announcement voice and other "system" tones are not as loud as the caller's. It is true. Sometimes it's difficult to hear the caller ID. But I've never missed a call because I didn't actually hear it. Second, there is no volume control on the headset. I actually prefer it. You control the volume with your phone. It's so much easier for me to do this. I know the complaint is that you have to take out your phone to do this, but I actually adjusted the volume the first time I used it and didn't have to adjust it again. Overall, this is probably the best Bluetooth headset I've ever used. Pros: Big volume Very light and comfortable Good ambient noise cancellation Consistently high sound quality on both sides Very good battery life Cons: Caller ID and system volume are much lower than the caller's voice
