OK, you can play on your knees, no stylus required

I like to lean on the sofa or bed and play this game. As crazy as it sounds, I love the tactile aspect of holding the tile and turning it in my fingers while considering where to go and the slight click it makes when I place it on the board . It only adds to the time spent in silence and distracts me from the screens. Also, I like that I don't kill a tree to make a book that I throw away when I'm done. This set is light enough to rest on your lap while playing. I twist it so that when playing, the box falls off the right side. I only have to open the drawer halfway to see the tiles so they stay in place and don't fall out. Even at the knee angle I use (compared to a flat tabletop) all the tiles stay in place (unless the cat jumps on you). My guess is that the board and tiles are bamboo and the tiles are handmade, so there is little difference in height/size on some tiles. Not enough to disrupt gameplay, but noticeable. If you need everything exactly the same size/shape as the car, you can look elsewhere. As a creative person, I love handmade tiles. The tile is black on one side and red on the other. I use black for "definitely", red for "probably". You can't make those little guesses you make with paper/pencil, so I turn the tiles sideways to remind myself these are my guesses. There is a book with 100 games with solutions. an unfinished game and don't let your tiles tip over, spill or get placed on them by your cat. It shouldn't be anything special, just something to protect the current game. I also have some love/hate issues with the box. Holding a tile on one side and a book on the other is great. On the other hand, it is impossible to throw all the tiles from the finished game back into the box. You can't just hold the board and let the tiles fall back because the box is divided into all these sections so the tiles are everywhere. So you have to tear the tiles off the finished board one by one and put them in the correct slots on the side of the box. I find this time consuming and annoying. However, once in these slots, I can easily find the right tile. Like I said, love/hate. Mine came with a small packet of tiles with symbols on them. Not sure what they are for. I'm guessing it helps kids with math? All in all I like it, especially for those who want to lean on a sofa or bed and play. You don't have to sit at the table and bend over the game.

Pros
  • DOUBLE SIDED RED AND BLACK NUMBERS - Each tile has a red number and a black number on either side. At the start of the game, black numbers are used as defaults. It also usually uses black numbers for your specific answers and red numbers for your possible answers.
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
