I'm not a beautician or hairdresser just a person with two dogs that need regular grooming. I remember seeing this product or something similar at the barber shops where my father got his hair cut. It was in a tall, flat, round jar, and the barber dipped in the tip and base of his clippers, and they came out shiny and hair-free. The jar now looked like a pot of disease waiting to be passed on to the next customer, as it contained floating bits of hair and the remains of who knows what. I cleaned and oiled the machine knives after each cleaning and lubricated them with coolant. during cutting so that the surface of the blade does not overheat. Cleaning the blades afterwards never seemed to remove all of the hair between the teeth, even using a toothbrush and moving the two blades back and forth. This material really CLEANS all hair and you can hear the noise reduction lubricates the blades better. I wipe them off quickly so I don't spill H42 on my dog. They glow and hum pleasantly after being dipped in this substance. I will continue to purchase this product as I feel it extends the life of my clippers and improves the cutting blade. Now for the cons and why I deducted a star. This stuff still comes in a good sized flat tub-like round container, and it looks like it's designed for you to put the blades (not the motor, just the tips and bottom of the blades) into one full container and store Reuse this material for multiple cuts. I don't care if it's virucidal or antibacterial, it seems like a really impure way to use it. I solve this problem by pouring a small amount into another container (at least 1/4 inch deep) and dropping my clippers in. I throw things away after every groom. Unfortunately the container it comes in doesn't pour without drips and yes you use more of this stuff with my method. I continue to use oil and coolant, but this stuff really cleans the bits that get caught between the teeth and seems to make the blades smoother. I recommend this product but not for multiple uses of a full tank for multiple cuts or haircuts. This method just doesn't sound like the healthy way. So if you use clippers on humans or dogs, I think this product might be useful for you.
