I have a pair of AZ by Alexander Zar belts and they are all made of high quality leather. This belt is no exception. This is a classic and slightly rustic style that goes well with jeans (it's not a belt for a dress). The inside of the belt is lighter in color and has a matte genuine leather finish, while the outside has a glossy dark brown protective coating. The leather's natural markings are accentuated somewhat by the shiny finish and it will be interesting to see how it develops a patina over time. The edges of the strap are raw and look a little frayed, which will likely stretch out a bit with use. Make sure you order one size up according to the size chart and it should fit perfectly. Overall, this is a quality genuine leather belt that will last. My only concern is how it will hold up over time with regular use (only time will tell) and that's why I didn't put a star in my rating. However, it is a very reasonable price.
