I didn't buy a steamer/blender from amazon.com but thought I should write anyway a review due to the lack of reviews for this product. An ingenious concept - steaming and mixing in one device. You steam food in a jar, and when the steaming process is complete, all you have to do is invert the jar and mix! No need to carry food, reducing the mess! Also, it doesn't take up much space. It's VERY easy to use, so even a techie like me shouldn't have any trouble using it. Times for different types of food that require guesswork! All you have to do is fill the measuring cup (also included) with water up to the level indicated in the table for the specific dish, pour it into the hole in the water tank at the bottom and turn the device on for on cook couple. Position. After the vaping process has finished, turn the jug upside down and set the device to the mix position. You also have the option of using it as a blender if you have previously cooked food in other ways. will work unless ALL the elements are properly attached. The top is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. the water tank is clean. The manufacturer recommends leaving the water tank lid open after cleaning the device "to prevent bacterial growth". I've read reviews of OTHER products where consumers have cleaned their vaporizers per manufacturer's recommendations but still had problems with mold growth! This is the main reason why I didn't give the product 5 stars. I think there must be another way to make sure the water tank is clean and dry. Maybe 3 stars is a bit harsh but my daughter's safety comes first. There is no display telling you when to descale. Manufacturers recommend descaling every 4 weeks, but I think it mostly depends on how hard the water is in your area. In my experience, whenever I need to descale one of my appliances, I always have to use my good old elbow! That's another reason why I was very disappointed with the small hole in the water tank. If the water tank was easily accessible for cleaning, descaling and drying, this product would get 10 stars from me. You'll have to wait 10 minutes for the motor to cool down before using the steamer again - not good if you're in a hurry. In the mixing position, you cannot mix for more than 30 seconds at a time, which is inconvenient because you cannot use the mixing time of products for cleaning, for example. You have to sit in front of the device and count to 30, stop for a few seconds and start counting again (well, at least I do!) I still use it almost every day, but every time I do I start with the sniff Open the water tank, shine a flashlight in and check the food before blending to see if there are any particles that shouldn't be there (like other steamers have done) and still no problem. I have a friend who has been using this product for a little over a year and she has had no problems either. Hope that helps.
