Review on πŸŽ’ Gregory Mountain Products Juno 24 H2O Hydration Backpack for Women by Victor Garro

Everything is perfect except the shoulder straps

I really wanted to love this backpack. It has everything I need. With one exception it is very comfortable, which is why I have to send this backpack back. Pros: Although it's a one size fits all, it fits my 18 inch torso perfectly. The rear mesh support frame is superb and rare for a hiking pack of this size. The weight is on the heavy side but not as heavy as comparable ventilated packs of this size on the market and once it's in place it doesn't feel heavy at all even when fully loaded Side mesh bottle pockets which is a big plus is. On my Osprey backpack I have to remove them because they just get in the way. The organization is good too. The build quality is very good and looks very solid. The color is very nice (orange is darker than shown in the photo). I didn't use a hydration bladder so I won't comment on that. This is the part that can be easily replaced. The magnetic clip system on the chest strap is very practical. The sunglass holder is also good. The waistbelt lining is thick and comfortable and shaped just right for my hips, while the side pockets are very roomy for all sorts of knick-knacks and even a smaller phone. Note: Even though my Samsung S9+ with Slim Case would fit in the side pocket when the case is flat, they will not fit when worn on the body due to the curved waist. Cons: This is an important point. one for me The shoulder straps are uncomfortable: the ends of the padded straps and the buckle form a hard bulge that rubs on the inside of the forearm and chest side just under the armpits. I've never encountered this with other Gregory daypacks. Something about the shape/length of the soft shoulder straps didn't suit me. They flex way too much towards my armpits compared to my Osprey pack. If it had been a bit forward I probably wouldn't have felt the bulge. I only carried the backpack indoors. If I wear it for hours on the trail, chafing will be a big issue. For reference, I'm 5ft 5in, 120lbs, slim build. Sigh. This would make the perfect day pack as it is extremely comfortable in all other respects with enough space to stash everything plus a hydration bladder in a separate compartment. I'm deducting a star because I've read all the reviews online and this isn't a common problem. This means it's still great packaging. It's just not for my body.
