Experience: Canon 300D, Canon 20D, Canon 7D. Compared to the "old lady" 20D, there are much more functions - Live View, video, the screen is large. But this is all "decoration", advertising in price lists. But in essence. In terms of image quality, the device has become significantly worse - almost all (90%) of the pictures are not sharp (not blurry due to handlessness, namely, not sharp, even from a tripod). Tested many times on lenses: * Canon 50 mm, F1.8 - not even close to focus; * Canon 50 mm, F1.4 - not even close to focus; * Canon 70-200 mm, F4.0 - getting into focus is extremely rare, but sometimes it happens; * Canon EF-S 10-22mm, F3.5 - out of focus; Let's go further. Previously, it was possible to change the format from RAW to JPEG in one motion and shoot a long series of something sporty (instead of just a little RAW). In 7D, this has disappeared - there is a button for switching from RAW to RAW + JPEG, but then you need to turn the wheels, selectors, press OK. If you are in the thick of things and you urgently need to start shooting a lot and quickly (and when you need it "quickly", then it happens "urgently", time is running out), then you have already missed your shots. Previously, there was a "sport" mode ("running man") - in case of urgency, I transferred it to it with one movement and shot the format in JPEG, and the ISO rose (automatic and high), and the shutter speed was selected automatically. That is, people understood that there are situations when you urgently need to start shooting a lot and quickly, and it doesnβt matter what ISO and JPEG - either that, or nothing at all. There is no such mode in 7D. It is clear that everything can be set through the menu, but the question is access to the functionality as a matter of urgency, so that it is on the edge! As a result, you lose opportunities and frames. It's bad that the battery is not compatible with the old ones, and the new one costs $100. 7D battery is eating - mom don't worry! On the old 20D, it was possible to shoot 1.5 thousand frames and not half-plant, I _never in my life_ did not use a spare battery. The new 7D starts to show battery discharge somewhere after a couple of hundred frames, and it takes a lot longer to charge the battery!
