The receiver works with the supplied antenna, but you definitely need an external antenna for better reception. It is very small and portable. The rotary knob encoder feels a bit flimsy and wobbles slightly from side to side when even a little force is applied when turning it. To charge the internal lithium-ion battery, you must purchase a USB wall charger and a mini-USB cable. The battery will power the receiver for quite a long time when fully charged. The small internal speaker actually delivers a pretty good sound for its size. There is a support group on Facebook and software updates are available to add and improve radio features. I would recommend this receiver to anyone who enjoys tinkering with radio and electronics. It certainly fits my hobby and seems good value for money.
