I took "purple", which really is more like a deep lilac, almost pinkish-brown. It's a very pretty color though and I'll leave it on but don't expect it to be a very purplish purple. I like this bag more than I expected. The size is large and the lining (often found in many bags at this price point) isn't too loose (so you don't get tangled in it), which is good. The only downside if you're looking for it is that, as other reviewers have said, its shape is rather unstructured and doesn't look like the solid "barrel" in the pictures. I also wish the straps were a bit longer so I don't have to attach a long one to carry it over my shoulder. But overall I really like it and expect to use it heavily.
