Distorted sound and short poems

Bought this series to compare this series with Bao Bao Mandarin books. We used to live in an area with a lot of Chinese, and now we live in the US with a decent Hispanic population, so we wanted to have different language books for our kid. Unfortunately, this book didn't really convince in comparison. The audio is too loud, so it is distorted and sounds distorted. There is no volume control - only on / off. Maybe it will get better when the battery dies? To be honest I'm not even sure if there are any instruments besides the vocals - I can barely hear it. The songs are short and only play one verse each. We have a pin pon book, but songs from other books like Un Elefante are about you learning to count multiple elephants in consecutive verses, which doesn't work well with one verse. a separate play button is built right into each page. At least it's that easy to repeat. The illustrations are ok, nothing special. The songs themselves are okay. Nothing special, but I liked "Go to sleep or the ghost will eat you" :) This is a book that allows us to play different music and introduce different sounds of speech - that's all. Maybe after a while it ends up in a free gift box or in a library.
