Edit October 19, 2020:It's been a few months since I wrote this, and I've now put this tent through its paces. The fishy smell I originally noted was gone after a few minutes of being set up in the sun, so it wasn't an issue. It was very overwhelming at first, but dispersed quickly and never came back. The tent stakes needed replaced almost instantly, as even the smallest amount of force would bend them. The good part about them though is how light and packable they were. If you get this tent, be sure to pick up some better stakes. That all said, 4 stars still seems appropriate to me.Original When I first opened this, I was met by a strong fishy smell. I opened it up to see if there was some sort of contamination that could be the cause, and couldn't find anything. I'm waiting for a sunny day to set it up in the yard to air out, and I'm hoping that it goes away, because as-is, the smell is so strong I doubt I could sleep in the thing. That said, it was easy to take out and easy to put back away, which is already better than most tents I've owned. It also feels durable and looks pretty simple to put together. The poles are all one piece, so there's some digging around for the right one, and the stakes actually have points to drive them into the ground easier, though I think I'd want to replace them eventually as they *feel* a bit brittle. (I can't say how many cheaper tents I've seen that have plain metal rod stakes without any sort of taper.)
