I thought it might need two separate power supplies, but when I turned on my Pi 3b+, the monitor turned on too. It shows immediately, without any special configuration and with only one power supply. I have another 7 inch display that looks like an escapee from Frankenstein's lab with wires wired everywhere. I needed a monitor with hidden ports to display the weather radar on my kitchen counter and this is perfect. Brightness, resolution, color are all excellent.
