Good but not for typists

I love the overall look and the fact that I can rotate my iPad while holding it on the cover, but I'm also a typist, meaning I type without looking the keyboard, even for numbers and punctuation (yes, I'm one of the few who knows about punctuation). Aside from that, Targus has done some of the usual "fn" punctuation that stands for function keys and moved some of the punctuation keys to the key settings on a regular keyboard, which is why the hands end up giving weird results. The punctuation marks assigned as features are colon, semicolon, forward slash, and question mark, which I see very often. The quotation mark and apostrophe move under the right pinky where the colon and semicolon would normally be. Whenever I try to use a double quote or an apostrophe, I end up hitting enter. This, of course, brings up interesting things when it comes to computer user interfaces. It's also important to know that when you move to a new location, it's best to fold your iPad into a case so the iPad doesn't try to bottom out. I understand the keyboard is compact and space efficient, but the design could use further testing. I also know that the elastic used to hold the folded covers together will stretch over time, as will any elastic for dry rot, so at some point you'll need to use an elastic or get creative and attach a different elastic.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • New competition arrived
