My daughter (5) loves these beads. She is very artistic and smart and can spend at least thirty minutes a day working with beads. She enjoys making various animals/characters with template accessories and gifting her creations to friends and family. My 8 year old shows moderate interest but is not interested in crafts and arts - the only "art" he enjoys is LEGO art. (He made Minecraft swords and pickaxes out of beads, which he thinks is very cool). Great gift idea for any child who enjoys crafting, however the beads are very small for adult fingers and require some dexterity (you can purchase bead tweezers but we don't). Children under the age of 4 or 5 may have problems handling the beads. A tip for the user: If possible, place the device on a surface that is easy to iron. We make it on a granite rod and iron it on top so the beads don't come loose from the pins in transit.
