I use them to wipe surfaces. They don't "scratch" but wipe up wet or soaked dirt. To be honest. They're a bit large for me (8/12 female foot size) and I've found these full boot wipers work a little better because they stay in place when I'm wiping/dusting. I have a bit of a hard time holding them when rubbing/wiping them, but I think they work about the same. They remove the bottom from them and machine wash them, and I tumble dry them low. I think you could be lying too - obviously - I never hesitate to update my reviews when new information seems useful.
