They fold up like umbrellas making them easy to store, take to a picnic or wherever. I only bought them to protect our fruit from fruit flies in the summer and they do a pretty good job except for the eggs which may already be on the bananas when you buy them. However they are of very poor quality and some of them were broken or bent when I received them and a few more fell apart when used. Think of that cheap umbrella you bought from those roadside guys to take advantage of tourists standing in the rain, and then imagine it was twice as thin. I was able to salvage most of mine with a hot glue gun so they work well, but be prepared for a fairly cheap product.
