In many ways this is a truly luxurious car seat. There are many small features that stand out compared to other car seats. The shoulder pads have non-slip material on the underside to keep them in place when tightening the strap. The shoulder straps move up and down with the headrest, while many other car seats require you to readjust the shoulder straps as your child grows. The headrest goes up A LOT so you can use the car's more secure seat belts if you were to switch to a booster for other car seats. The list goes on. In car seat mode over 40 pounds, secure the seat with the seat belt, not the LATCH system. This car seat has a special latch that attaches to the vehicle's seat belt to keep it securely in place. Access to a special forward-facing latch is located under the seatback cushion, but don't worry, the seat cushion is easy to lift and release. If you need to loosen the top strap to remove the seat, you don't have to hold down the button and slide the strap through - just lift and the strap easily releases. In addition, there are very detailed step-by-step instructions in English and Spanish for each installation style. My daughter was impressed with the dual detachable cup holders. The detachability is a big feature because we all know that nasty things end up in the cup holder at the bottom! She also said that overall the seat was very comfortable. Of course, the fact that the seat supports the booster seat, with the booster seat facing fore and aft, means this might just be the only car seat you need. I think it's great!
