Review on Lamoutor 0 12 Shrink Tubing Electrical: Ultimate Solution for Wire Insulation and Protection by Adam Walsh

Non 3mm Non Shrink

I bought this because I often use 3mm heatshrink tubing and it felt like a good deal. I compare it to the Salipt whistle I used before. tl;dr - This hose (Lamotour) does not meet the advertised specs so I am sending it back. This tube was unbranded - it didn't have any manufacturer markings on the tube itself so we don't really know what its specs are. The tubing was advertised as 3mm/2:1 shrinking but looks more like 4mm. It seemed to shrink at a 2:1 ratio, but it remains too large for my application. The photos I've attached are a comparison between the two. The first on the left shows the best tubing (no shrink and no shrink) versus this tubing (Lamoutor, shrink and no shrink). You can see that Lamoutor is significantly larger. The second image further proves this point, showing the best tube inserted into a Lamoutor tube. It is clear that they are larger. So I'm sending it back and will be more careful with the next purchase.

Pros
  • Heat Shrink Tubing has good electrical insulation, good sealing, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.
Cons
  • Doubtful
