I ordered this unit for use with an old stereo amplifier. My stereo amp (not included) has a relatively low input impedance which causes some preamps to clip. Since this device supports headphones, I assumed that a low-impedance load would not be a problem. This is a PASSIVE bi-directional stereo audio switch; It requires no power supply, but offers no amplification. It can switch one of the four inputs to its output, or it can switch one input among the four outputs. It includes a volume control with a limited range: in my tests, the volume rose linearly from zero at 7 o'clock to 100% at 12 o'clock, although the knob could be turned further past 5 o'clock (not a problem, but puzzling). .The kit includes a junction box, a 3-foot audio cable with a 3.5mm jack. Stereo jacks at each end and brief instructions. I found this unit a bit pricey for PASSIVE control, but I'm deducting zero stars because it works as advertised.
