Maybe it's just the shape of my ear but I couldn't get the business part of these things deep enough in my ears to provide any real isolation and bass response. This is with any lace, plastic or foam. I'm pretty sure it's not due to inexperience with the concept. I've been using Shure and Westone headphones on stage for many years. Perhaps my ear is too oddly shaped to allow the large body of this design to sit deep enough in the ear canal. It feels like he'll never "sit down" there. There's always a bit of a mess, even when the foam tips are fully extended. With plastic tips, I have to push them further in to get more isolation and bass, and they won't stay there when I take my hand away. Unfortunately. I really wanted them to work the way they were personally recommended to me.
