I received these mics last Friday and had the opportunity to use them at two sound gigs on Sunday. I've used them on an upright with cardioid capsules, on a Steinway over the hammers because the lid had to be closed and there weren't any fasteners to get in, and they sounded much better than the double-throw capacitors I had before. Applications that weren't terrible but weren't great. They have very good response in the upper mids, where a cheap mic usually gets pretty harsh and needs a lot of EQ to tame it. I was able to keep the EQ pretty flat, with a few small cuts that are more room related. Later that day I split them up and used them with different capsules, one on a superkaryoid alto sax, one on a drum kit, right in the middle of the kit with an omni capsule (a great place to amplify an already great drummer, he can balance his game) , and again both sounded great, with pretty flat EQ. I'm really happy with these mics. . I bought them assuming they were the same mic as the ISK Little Gem and while I have no confirmation they look too similar to be wrong. Either way you won't be disappointed if you try them, if so let me know because I will buy them from you!
