Ideal for playing with wax. Not too hot, not too cool. The only thing I didn't like was the waxy smell. Like colored pencils from other manufacturers. We just lit a real candle at the same time and all was good. Although the drops are transparent. I took them for a photo shoot hoping they would be more opaque.
