I like this detergent because modern phosphate free detergents don't clean clothes at all like the old high phosphate detergents years ago. Modern laundry soaps are enriched with fragrances to hide the smell of odors and dirt that they cannot completely remove. Add about 1/4 cup of TSP to each batch - slightly more if making a coarse batch. Over time, the colors and whites that have turned gray regain brightness, and the new whites remain white. Yes, the product will clump when it absorbs moisture from the environment, but it crumbles back into powder very easily. I take a small piece and break it up in my hand, spray while the washing machine fills up, and it quickly dissipates once it hits the water.
