If you write video in HD mode, then only on batteries, and I definitely do not recommend philips, only Varta, enedg, Sanyo. (Not advertising !)
If you try to write video in HD, powering the camera from lithium batteries, then nothing will work. For at 20 seconds the fotik will require to REPLACE BATTERIES. This is not a disadvantage. Everything is fine. But in VGA, record the video for about 1 hour, and there will be 70 more photos with a flash.
Somehow I found a cover-rag for him, there are no normal covers for him.
Night photos can also be taken, of course, on a tripod, and at ISO 100. It has a shutter speed of up to 15 seconds.

Pros

It is difficult to talk about the shortcomings in the camera for 5990. but. 1. I want 45 minutes. 3. Working ISO is only 80-100, you are unlikely to set it higher, because the noise is unbearable. 4. Distorts colors in video recording. 5.
