Not working properly after just a few months

When I first got it I thought it was the perfect device as it worked amazingly. Unfortunately, a few months later, it causes problems. When connected to my MacBook Pro, the laptop cannot connect to the internet and the USB device connected to the hub does not work. I only get it to work after pulling it off several times. Oh, and Wi-Fi turns on as soon as I turn it off. I also need the connector to be a certain side up when I plug it into my MacBook - this is very annoying. Completely upset because I thought it was so cool at first. I don't recommend buying it unless you plan to buy another one in a few months.
