They fit exactly how I wanted my 4 year old to fit. I purposely bought them a size too big so she could wear them with her bumblebee costume for Halloween and still fit for Christmas dinner. They are roomy enough to wear with tights or thin socks. Because the Velcro runs the length of the arch and sides (and not just an inch long like many other girls' shoes), they are very secure. Don't worry about the velcro opening and the shoes falling off even if they are too big. Your foot is fine. 6 1/2 inches long and we ordered a size 11 for a small child. You can see in my photos I can put my finger in the back. There is about half an inch of room for growth. Glitter does not rub off. They are adorable and I think they will continue. My daughter is happy with the look and the fact that she can attach the straps herself. Happy with my purchase.
