Review on 🔌 SFF 8087 Breakout Cable by Cable Matters by Danierl Temple

While experimenting with new storage options at home, I recently bought a used PERC SAS controller and needed a multi-drive adapter. This adapter cable did it! Easy connection. Once I booted the machine, <CTRL>-R allowed me to configure the disks I had and they were all easily recognized by the SAS controller. The PERC controller has two connectors, this cable occupies one and allows you to connect (4) SATA drives. Adding a second cable expands to (8) SATA drives. While this isn't a review of a PERC controller, speeds were fast, consistent, and hassle-free. The cables are thin and flexible, with a black mesh cover that feels strong and protective. I wouldn't have any issues with cable management when using them. Another benefit is that SATA connectors have a locking metal tab instead of just friction to hold them in place. While I've never had an issue with the SATA connector falling out, it's a nice touch. It works great.
