Purpose: Bought a light strip for a small home server rack. There were many reviews warning about glue, but I took a chance. Firstly everyone is right, even though I cleaned the spot the glue didn't stick. So I went and bought some double sided tape and so far so good. Second problem: the adapters that connect the headlights don't hold up very well. There is no mounting clip or anything like that. You simply plug the male ends into the female ends. When I tried to install the light, the strip fell off and kept separating. I ended up having to use duct tape to hold the strands together. Once I installed the strips using double sided tape and masking tape. I grabbed the remote and felt like Chevy Chase in National Pamphlet Christmas when he turned on the light and that sense of accomplishment. Of course they didn't work the first time because I reversed the polarity of one of the strands, but the second time it was magic. The remote worked well as long as the IR sensor was visible. They were very bright and you can change the colors and the brightness of the light. And lastly, I noticed a spark every time I plugged in the power supply. At first I thought it was a grounding issue, but I checked and found no issues with my APC surge protector. So I'm a bit wary, but since these LED strips are low voltage I didn't think this would be a big problem. If the company improved the connectors and improved the adhesive it would be a good product but for the price I think they will. UPDATE: Their support contacted me and explained that they are working on improving the 3M tape on their product. . They also apologized for the troubles I was going through and gave me a full refund. I'm giving them another star for their friendly customer service.
