I ordered a similar blanket from a different company for my children that is super thick and heavy. I chose this brand to order for myself because I love the snowflakes on blue print and the other brand doesn't offer that print. I was disappointed that this blanket is much lighter/thinner, I was hoping for something thicker. When this came the first thing, I noticed is that the blue is much darker than the picture, it looks almost black in the evenings when there's no sunlight, too bad since I really like the royal blue color in the picture. But the biggest issue was that when I opened up the packaging it had such a strong chemical smell that I actually gagged, I almost decided to return in right then but decided to go ahead and give it a wash with vinegar. There's still a faint chemical smell but I think that will go away after another wash or two. In spite of these issues, I'm keeping it, it's a blanket, it's super soft, it's warm, and I like the snowflake pattern even is the blue is darker than expected.
