Review on GoPro Official Suction Cup Mount: Ultimate Secure Mounting Solution for High-Quality Action Footage by William Gildea

Good strong suction that causes premature ejection

GoPro charges a little more than third-party manufacturers for its products, but you get higher quality and a certain level of safety. sucks harder than your mother and when properly adhered to a clean, smooth surface will hold up in even the toughest of situations without a hitch. I've had mine for a little less than a month, but I've managed to cling to the crash ball, the 85 mile car, and the side of the subway with a bit of sweat. It's perfect in every way compared to cheaper competitors, with one downside I just can't ignore; it loses traction over time. I didn't expect it to stick to the surface for days, but I found that in 1-1.5 hours from the time it was first applied, it had loosened considerably. After 1.5-2 hours it will come off on its own due to loss of suction. I have tested this at home on perfectly smooth glass and no matter the orientation it will not hold on its own. Although it lasts an hour or two, which is longer than what I usually use on my GoPro, it makes me nervous in tricky situations with time-lapses and the like. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a flexible piece of plastic to last this long, but I wish it could suck for at least 4 or 5 hours - after all, the suction cup on my toothbrush holder doesn't work. I don't lose my grip even after a few weeks. I love this product and although it is missing it fits like a hired mule and if I inevitably break it I will come back here to buy another.

Works for car videos with GoPro cameras, but klunky holder and can fall off
